# Scanning device simulator

If you want to test the [Scanner Service](https://docs.lacunasoftware.com/en-us/articles/scanner) but don't have a scanner, you can use a scanning device simulator by running
the installer below:

After installation, a scanner named *TWAIN2 FreeImage Software Scanner* appears in your list of scanners. When you scan with this
scanner, it always scans the same sample page:
