Rest PKI Core Settings
Rest PKI Core reads its settings from a configuration file or from environment variables, depending on the platform of the installation. Restart the application after changing any setting: most settings only take effect at startup.
Where the settings are defined
| Platform | Where to define the settings |
|---|---|
| Linux | File /etc/restpkicore/appsettings.conf |
| Windows Server | File C:\ProgramData\Lacuna Software\Rest PKI Core\appsettings.ini |
| Docker | Environment variables of the container |
| Azure App Services | Application settings of the App Service |
Environment variables work on every platform and take precedence over the configuration file: when a setting is defined in both, the value of the environment variable is used.
How settings are named
Each setting has a section and a key, and is written differently in a configuration file and in an environment
variable. For example, the keys Type and Path of section BlobStorage:
In the configuration file:
[BlobStorage]
Type=FileSystem
Path=/var/files/myapp
As an environment variable (Docker and Azure App Services), with __ between the section and the key:
BlobStorage__Type=FileSystem
BlobStorage__Path=/var/files/myapp
Settings by feature
- Biometrics: enrollment batches and the job that looks after them
- Blob storage: where the application stores files
- Email sending: SMTP server used to send emails
- OpenID Connect: integration with GrantID for user management
- Timestamping: timestamp servers used by the application
- Logging: destinations and levels of the logs
