# Certificates trusted by Adobe

Since December 2019, Adobe has included the ICP-Brasil V5 chain in its list of trusted roots, the Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL). However,
Adobe only trusts A3 certificates, so it enforces a restriction by certificate policy. As a side effect of this restriction, A3 certificates
from some certificate authorities are **rejected** when Adobe Reader validates PDF signatures, even though they are perfectly valid under
Brazilian law (as is any A1 certificate).

Below is a list of the certificates Adobe accepts, followed by a list of the ones it rejects. Each item gives the name of the certificate
authority as registered in ICP-Brasil ("AC" stands for *Autoridade Certificadora*, Portuguese for certificate authority) and, in parentheses,
the OID of its A3 certificate policy.
